A singer…an entertainer... a multi-talented young woman. A performer who has
entertained millions of people with her performance on Fox Television’s
“American Idol Juniors” show. An entertainer who has touched audiences while
performing with the likes of Kimberly Locke and Jeff Foxworthy. A recording
artist with a new hit single “I’ll Make It Real”.
Her name is Katelyn Tarver.
In the small friendly town of Glennville, Georgia, Katelyn grew up in a home
filled with song. Her mother, a church choir vocalist and her father, an avid
“southern blues guitarist” would fill Katelyn’s everyday life with beautiful,
heartfelt music. As Katelyn tells it, "There was always music in our life, the
church, the house and always the car radio." At an early age, Katelyn taught
herself “the feel” and “interpretation” of pop music. It was then that Katelyn
began developing her own distinctive style that has been called “the heart and
soul of a woman in the body of young girl.”
Eager to perform for a larger audience than just family and friends, in 2003 the
Tarver’s traveled to Chattanooga, Tennessee for the audition of the “American
Idol Juniors”. Her talent left the producers speechless and she was immediately
given a spot on the show. Katelyn received tremendous critical praise from
judges Debbie Gibson and legendary pop vocalist Gladys Night all the while
building a solid fan base, as Katelyn became one of the finalist in the
“American Idol Juniors” competition. Upon Katelyn’s return to Georgia, Katelyn
began recording demos and performing numerous shows in the southeastern part of
the United States.
One of the demos made its way to New York City and into the hands of Tom and
Concett Bradley at their record label TC Music. Katelyn was signed to TC Music
in late summer of 2004 and since then, Katelyn has recorded in New York City and
in Los Angles with the hot new production team KSK. Katelyn has worked with
noted New York City fashion photographer Peter Brown. And all the while
maintaining her busy performance schedule with the likes of Sky Sweetnam and
Kimberly Locke. In addition to Katelyn’s music recording and performance
schedule, Katelyn has signed with Wilhelmina Modeling Agency and Abrams Artist
Management for print and on camera representation.
The first maxi single CD not only showcases Katelyn's singing talent but also
shows a smart young woman with her choice of lyric content. In the lead single,
“I’ll Make It Real,” Katelyn lends a voice to all young girls to be strong and
believe in one’s self. The track, “I’ll Make It Real” is deep with a youthful
soul-filled fever while the track, “Lover Boy” is an up-tempo track with pumping
drums and bass that makes you want to dance. “We’ve had lots of fun working on
the first single and I’m really looking forward to continuing the great vibe for
the album. I just love to sing and perform,” says Katelyn. Katelyn’s full length
CD will include tracks from Mattias Gustafsson (Back Street Boys), Kevin Savigar
(Rod Stewart) and Eran Tabib (Angie Stone, Kristine W).
Katelyn Tarver, the perfect balance between innocence and attitude. Finding a
home with audiences everywhere.
