We are currently in a brownout which we need to turn off all of our equipment for protection. We have used already the 3 hours of power backup to keep the station on air. We are unaware when power will be restored.
A brownout is when there a drop of voltage in electrical supply.
We are proud to announce that in the upcoming weeks, we will be launching new features to our website, WRAJRadio.com. The WRAJ Internet Radio music guide will be returning with some new features. Users will be able to make requests up to 2-4 times a day from the website.
With the music guide, users will need to be registered to WRAJ Internet Radio’s old message board system, as it will be returning replacing the myWRAJ portal.
Also, you will soon be able to watch videos from Vidgle directly from WRAJRadio.com.
We will be off the air for a few minutes this evening, after 1AM EST on July 10, as we upgrade our broadcasting software to the newest version. We rarely upgrade our broadcasting software, but there are new features in the software that we would like to take advantage of. The upgrade process should only last for about 30 minutes.
WRAJ Internet Radio will be moving to a brand new server this weekend. This website may become unavailable from time to time; we’re hoping to be completed by the end of the holiday weekend. If you need to listen to WRAJ Internet Radio when the site is down, you can simply to go wraj.net/listen.
Anthony is planning to announce that he is planning to create a new podcast platform that will be on the WRAJ Internet Radio website by the end of the summer. Just like WRAJ’s sister site, Vidgle, there are going to be several audio podcasts instead of video. Several shows planning to start includes AZ Tech Talk, Con Goer, Cruzin’ Hollywood, Sports Report, and more to come. The audio podcasts will also be shown on Vidgle, which is already having over ten thousand hits in April. In June, all Vidgle content will be on wrajradio.com while some content of wrajradio.com will be syndicated on Vidgle.
Jimmy will make his return on a weekly radio show, Saturday Night Jazz and Standards. “Its glad to see Jimmy return onto the airwaves,” said Anthony Zaragoza; “I can’t wait,” Sarah added.
Saturday Night Jazz and Standards will be a weekly radio show starting on May 17 at 10PM EST. The show will air some of the best instrumental and vocal jazz songs selected from The Great American Songbook. Such artists include Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Michael Buble, Diana Krall, Jane Monheit, Oscar Peterson, Billie Holiday, Dean Martin, Kenny G, Louis Armstrong, and Nat King Cole.
Jimmy has been with WRAJ Internet Radio since January 2003, and was host of WRAJ’s annual live Christmas Special since 2002. “It’s been a while since I’ve been apart of the broadcasting lineup for the station, and I’m really looking forward to having a new show. The last time I was apart of a live show was back in 2005 with Ant, so it should be a good experience ‘cause it’s been so long,” Jimmy said in April.
You can see more about Saturday Night Jazz and Standards by clicking here to visit the show’s homepage.
We are currently experiencing major internet issues that is causing us to go off the air from time to time with our ISP. Please expect on Saturday afternoon of WRAJ to be off the air as necessary equipment is replaced from our ISP. We apologize for the inconvenience.
WRAJ Internet Radio will soon be one-to-one with new sister site Vidgle (at vidgle.com) by the beginning of the summer. According to company president Anthony Zaragoza, WRAJRadio.com will be moving down the coast from San Francisco to Los Angeles, getting a new home right in the same room that Vidgle is housed. “We are very excited about this announcement. It will share marketing ideas for both sites.” With this move, visitors on the WRAJ Internet Radio website will be able to watch videos on the station website without going to the Vidgle website. Also, the WRAJ Internet Radio Photo Gallery will be shared with the Vidgle portal, which will also expand the possibility of commenting of the pictures. Currently, there are discussions if the myWRAJ portal should be removed off the site to avoid confusion to typical users; myWRAJ is the current forum system used on the WRAJ Internet Radio website.
“WRAJ Internet Radio already reaches around a million unique users each month, while Vidgle is climbing up the ladder with nearly 4,000 hits in April alone.”
The host of WRAJ’s annual live Christmas Special has decided to come back and be apart of the broadcasting staff once again. Jimmy, a contributing staff member since 2002, is returning on the radio station with a new live show.
Anthony and Jimmy have been going back and forth with different ideas for months now, trying to plan for a new addition for the WRAJ programming schedule.
“It’s been a while since I’ve been apart of the broadcasting lineup for the station, and I’m really looking forward to having a new show. The last time I was apart of a live show was back in 2005 with Ant, so it should be a good experience ‘cause it’s been so long,” Jimmy said during a Friday meeting.
The only information that is being released is that the new live show will consist of music from the Jazz genre, like the “Evening Talk Show” back in 2002. “Its good to see Jimmy back on a weekly show again, with the format he had years ago,” Anthony says.
Plans are currently underway for Jimmy’s return and is aiming to do the first broadcast in late Spring or early Summer of this year. More details to come.
