I want to let everyone know that earlier today we were having ‘power issues’ that caused our station to skip a lot, or I as would call it ‘Skippy’. The issue has been resolved.
It gets a lot of technical from here why the station has had skipping issues and needs to be reset manually.
You might know Sunnie as your site’s mascot since 2003. He is all over the website, including the site’s icon, and each time you stop by the site , you see him winking at you. Well, by the end of this year, our lovely Sunnie will be retiring from WRAJ Internet Radio. We are looking at mascots at this time and our new mascot will be revealed this summer.
A new night program is coming in June for WRAJ Internet Radio. After a three year absence of WRAJ Internet Radio’s “After Hours,” it has come to our attention that more programs are needed on the weekdays. After a complete success of 8 O’Clock 80s, we are in the progress of new shows, and one is the “After Hours” idea.
After Hours was a love song and dedication show that started in June 2004 and ended in August 2004. The show was cancelled due to the low resources, and now it is possible to let After Hours comeback! The resources at WRAJ Internet Radio has improved over the years, including the broadcasting software, music library, and staff.
“After Hours” will not be the title of the new show, a new name is currently being discussed. The program will run from 9PM - 2AM EST in a five hour time block running from Sundays to Fridays after 8 O’Clock Eighties. There is no date for release at this time.
The Afternoon Show time slot changes that would be effective on June 29 has been changed. The new start date will be July 27. The new time slot will be on Fridays from 12:00 - 4:00 from July 27 through January 11, 2008.
At this time, it is uncertain if the new time slots will still exist after the end date.
AZ Tech Talk will be turning into a video podcast by the end of this year. The audio podcast will still be available during the era. WRAJ Internet Radio will be ordering 10 episodes of the 10-minute long podcast. The reason for the short number of episodes is because WRAJ Internet Radio will be testing new video podcasting technology. By mid-2008, the show will be in video podcast biweekly. All of the video podcasts will be done in the studio and will be shot in 1080i HD.
“Our studio was truly built for a radio station, but now we are trying to turn it into a TV studio!”
Other video podcasts expected to be out by 2008 includes Nerd Night, which will be like a TV show.
There is going to be a brand new blog website about Long Island, for Long Islanders. The website will be managed by the people who bring you WRAJ Internet Radio.
The new blog will be having news about Long Island, events, reviews, editorials, polls, forums, and more. There will also be a podcast of the show, which will be aired on WRAJ Internet Radio weekly.
