The Day of Silence Is On!

June 27th, 2007

WRAJ Internet Radio was one of the million of webcasters today that were silent throughout the day. It turns out the day of silence throughout the day on all of the stations were a success.

Throughout the day, WRAJ Internet Radio looped special programming, including interviews with Ray Gauthier that has been airing on the station for the last month on Saturday mornings and a program that Anthony produced himself.

Day of Silencewrajradio.com also changed its look and feel for the day of silence. For the Day of Silence we changed our website, the horizon picture was changed to a red color art saying the Day of Silence on it. Most of the pages on the site were changed, besides the HD version of the site, and the original site look will return when the day of silence is over. Anthony commented last week that he was going to block the entire website, however the website is considered as a different service from the WRAJ Internet Radio’s stream, according to our parent company, which the procedure couldn’t be done. There was an ongoing debate in 2005 when WRAJ Internet Radio was purchased by Jenthony Enterprises, Inc., with different services. In result, the station became part of the Jenthony Radio Network while the website became part of Jenthony Interactive (which was known as WRAJ Internet Radio Interactive before the purchase).
Anthony’s special program, “Where the music won’t come alive” was emotionally, said a listener. In the program, Anthony explained the history and operations of such an unique The show will be on the website sometime next week. Anthony also shared his views and opinions of the ongoing debate. By the end of the program, listeners were able to feel his anger. In the program, he said that he is blaming “P2P” software users.

“If you are listening and using Peer-2-Peer software, stop it right now!” (Anthony Zaragoza on his Program)

There is no evidence behind Anthony’s statement if its true that the rates are going up because of the illegal downloading. However, there are other internet radio broadcasters who believe the statement is true. One of them said to Ray Gauthier in an interview that maybe their putting the blame of P2P software on us (the internet radio community).

Anthony also took us back in the history of his show, The Afternoon Show, the new successful hit radio show 80’s Meltdown, the annual tradition on the station’s Christmas Special with Jim and Ant, and his new successful show 8 O’clock 80’s.

He ended up the show by saying thanks for listening to the station throughout the years and hopefully the station can continue to broadcast after July 15 with no changes.
