We had a problem with our network about an hour ago and is now resolved. One of our routers died on us and we quickly replaced the router in a matter of minutes, since we have a lot of routers in case of a situation like this. We were off the air for just a few minutes while we replaced the router. And it seems like everything is back to normal!
There was a major power outage early this morning that knocked out our power. Our battery back up system and generators were successfully turned on when the power went out, however we lost connection to our internet service provider that caused us to go off the air. There were severe weather passing by us, which is the cause of the outage. We were not able to stream over the internet for nearly two hours until we were able to go up again. Technically the station was never off the air; however it was not able to reach our viewers. When the internet was restored, we then had problems with our network which was quickly resolved.
WRAJ Internet Radio is now back on the air, as of 2:45AM EST.
80’s Meltdown has been canceled and the last broadcast of the show will be aired on August 11. “Its sad to see the show come to an end,” said WRAJ Internet Radio General Manager.
The 80’s Meltdown slot will be replaced by a new show hosted by Ray Gauthier, who also hosted 80’s Meltdown, called “Back to the 80’s.” The new show will premiere on August 18 at 8 PM Eastern.
There was a major blackout in San Francisco today that caused many websites to go down. However, our data center, near San Francisco, that hosts our website was not affected. There was a moment of two minutes that our database went down. Everything should be back to normal!
Our stream was not affected since our data center for the stream is in New York and Chicago.
There are heavy storms on Long Island today. WRAJ Internet Radio is in a Flash Flood and tornado warning zone. WRAJ Internet Radio may go in and out during this storm. Our battery back up systems has already been used since early this morning.

As a ‘plot’ of a deadly shooting at a high school effected us so close to home and throughout the nation, we’ve decided to share the views of what some students and alumni told us at WRAJ in the last 24 hours. In this blog post, we have not shared names. Please note: This blog entry does not exploit the views and opinions of WRAJ Internet Radio, its parent company, Jenthony Enterprises, Inc; including its subsidiaries, affiliates, licensees, successors, and agents. On July 13th broadcast of The Afternoon Show, Anthony announced if WRAJ Internet Radio will be on the air on Sunday/Monday of what was known as “The Day When the Music Dies.”
Our parent company, Jenthony Enterprises, Inc., is expecting to upgrade its 100 MPS network to a 1000 MPS network within the next month. Some of the computers are still on a 10MPS network, since the computer is not often used. The upgrade was called for due to many collisions in the network by the many computers on the network.
Within the next month, most of the computers, which will need it, will have their network cards upgraded to a 1000MPS ethernet card. And most of the CAT5 cables which runs throughout the office will need to be replaced to a CAT6 line to fully experience the upgrade In about 2 years from now, there is going to be more computers in our studio since we are planning to add more channels. And we will be installing a new server to backup every single thing over the network. (Anthony Zaragoza)
The upgrade is expected to be completed by August.
