On July 13th broadcast of The Afternoon Show, Anthony announced if WRAJ Internet Radio will be on the air on Sunday/Monday of what was known as “The Day When the Music Dies.”

Anthony announced that the station will be able to survive, after the parent company of the station agreed that the station will be able to afford the new rates from SoundExchange. What he did not mention is that the company will survive the new rate by having cut backs, such as fewer employees, staff, equipment, and programming.

Minutes after the announcement, SoundExchange told Congress that stations won’t need to go silent on Monday as negotiations continue in Congress.

No cut backs have been done yet and Anthony hopes that it won’t come to that point of the station’s history. WRAJ Internet Radio is an internet radio station located on Long Island, operating since January 2003.
