Anthony Zaragoza announced earlier this week with the schedule of the holiday music being played this year. “We will be starting to play our holiday music collection with our regular library on November 19th through December 23,” said Zaragoza. Additionally, he announced “after December 23, we will be playing non-stop holiday music with less interruptions through Christmas day.” Anthony also added that the Twelve Days of Christmas has been canceled due to the low ratings in 2006 compared to our previous years of the same project we are doing this year.
Regular programming, such as Indie Mornings with shows Colorado Wave, On the Horizon, Music Highway, and Indie Traffic Jam ; AZ Tech Talk, Back to the 80’s, 8 O’clock 80’s, and The Afternoon Show will remain in their scheduled slot. “If there is holiday music or not on the show, we are going to air all of the shows.” All shows after 12PM EST on December 23 will be removedĀ through December 26 at 3AM EST.
The date for this year’s annual Christmas Special with Jim and Ant has not been announced. “Jim and I are currently deciding a date for this special, and it is definetly happening, it is our big tradition here at WRAJ.”
Anthony Zaragoza announced to the staff on Friday that he is suggesting to revamp the weekend morning schedule. This comes after a few weeks of “Indie Traffic Jam” being on hiatus, currently repeats are being aired on its time slot. At this time, it is unknown if the show will continue its broadcast of new programming. The high rated programs, “On the Horizon,” “AZ Tech Talk,” and “The Colorado Wave” will be remaining on the schedule.
AZ Tech Talk will be turning into a video podcast by the end of this year. The audio podcast will still be available during the era. WRAJ Internet Radio will be ordering 10 episodes of the 10-minute long podcast. The reason for the short number of episodes is because WRAJ Internet Radio will be testing new video podcasting technology. By mid-2008, the show will be in video podcast biweekly. All of the video podcasts will be done in the studio and will be shot in 1080i HD.
“Our studio was truly built for a radio station, but now we are trying to turn it into a TV studio!”
Other video podcasts expected to be out by 2008 includes Nerd Night, which will be like a TV show.
AZ Tech Talk will be replaced by a special presentation of Save Net Radio this Saturday, hosted by Ray Gauthier of 80’s Meltdown. Guests include Carmen Allgood from the Colorado Wave, Paul Philbeck of Webcastersunite, Kurt Hanson of Accuradio and RAIN Newsletter, Mark Lam of Live 365, Tim Westergren of Pandora, and Jake Ward of Savenetradio.org. This presentation will bring you a more in-depth feeling of what the internet radio will be like if the new CRB rates will pass in July. This will be playing this Saturday and as well as next Saturday at 7AM EST. The show will be available for podcast through AZ Tech Talk next week.
