On the Afternoon Show Friday, Anthony announced to his audience the plans for Vidgle.com. Vidgle is just going to be an opposite of WRAJ Internet Radio, there is going to be collection of videos by the staff of the site and partnered production companies. The videos are going to be high quality and videos are able to be downloaded to be uploaded to a user’s iPod, DVD, AppleTV, or other entertainment systems. The videos are going to be recorded at an HDTV level and will be down-converted to an EDTV level The video There will also be a RSS feed of the videos so users will be able to retrieve the video automatically without visiting the site via a media-RSS reader, such as iTunes. “This will save bandwidth as well,” said Anthony Zaragoza. “Users will be able to download the video once on their computer instead downloading it multiple times on the website.” Anthony added that the site’s structure is so advanced, that it can be easily accessible for the future of the internet with accessibility to future hardware and software.
Anthony also announced shows that will be on the new site. One is his “Behind the Mic,” which he has been planning for 4 years. Originally, his plan years ago was to be a reality show of WRAJ Internet Radio but instead replaced it as a sitcom. There will also be newscasts such as AZ Tech Talk, The Con-Goer, and sports. There is also going to be movies, in which Anthony announced there is going to be 5 movies by the end of 2008.
Anthony also added there is a team already established with nearly 20 people.
Anthony Zaragoza is planning to reveal plans of his new website development, vidgle.com. Just like the opposite of wrajradio.com, Vidgle (Vid - Gule) will have a library of video productions made by the site or production companies that supplies the video to Vidgle. Anthony also announced that if there is enough content, by 2010 or 2011, Vidgle will have a 24/7 live video stream. “Its YouTube at a new level” said Anthony Zaragoza, “the video content will be sharper at an EDTV level, nearly doubling the quality of a standard YouTube quality.” Zaragoza added that he has been planning a website like Vidgle since 2004 which was previously known as ENTV (Entertainment Now Television).
Anthony will be revealing more information about Vidgle on the Afternoon Show on January 11 beginning at 3PM.
Anthony is planning to be hosting the Afternoon Show from 12 Noon to 6PM EST on Friday, December 14. Because of his long absence, he is hosting the show for 6 hours.
Anthony Zaragoza announced “the 12PM time slot for three hours is a difficult time for me, which is why I’ve been absent many times for the Afternoon [show].” He added that meetings and other jobs needed to be done, especially with the plans of the company expanding. “The original time slot, from 3PM - 6PM, will go back in effect after the Thanksgiving weekend, which will be November 30th.” Zaragoza did note that the 12PM time slot was temporary when he announced it in August. The 3PM time slot has always been the timeslot for the Afternoon Show since the start in January 2003.
Anthony also announced that he will be attempting to do the first live remote broadcast of the Afternoon Show from the new facilities in Tampa, Florida in late December.
Earlier this year, The Afternoon Show began to be considered by critics as one of the longest running weekly live internet radio show in the United States.
Anthony Zaragoza announced Thursday that the Afternoon Show will be changing timeslots again for the second time since the changes in August. The show will be starting at 4PM and ending at 6PM, reducing an hour from the show, which will be in effect starting on January 25 through May 23. Zaragoza is not publishing why he decided to change the show times.
This announcement can change, so stay tune with the WRAJ Blog for the latest updates.
Anthony Zaragoza is apologizing to his listeners on Sunday after nearly three weeks of absence from The Afternoon Show. After a month of the new time slot, Anthony is not blaming for the new time slot. Anthony said that he has been having personal issues that he needs to take care of and he is hoping to be on the show in the upcoming week.
Starting on August 10, the Afternoon Show will be changing its time slot. The Friday time slot change has never occurred since the beginning of the show in January 2003.
In 2003, the show was from 3:00 - 6:00 PM every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Then the following September, Anthony decided to leave only Friday in the time slot since it was the most popular spot.
Now, nearly four years later, the time slot is being changed. The new times are from 12:00PM - 4:00PM EST every Friday. “I’ve made the change by personal reasons,” said Anthony Zaragoza, host of the Afternoon Show.
The new time slot though is not permanent. The new schedule is going to expire on January 11, 2008. “This is just a test to see if the new schedule can fit for me.”
Zaragoza is even considering to start a new live internet radio morning program by 2009, which will be aired weekly on the station. If the show can pass, it will become the first live internet radio morning show on an internet radio station.
On July 13th broadcast of The Afternoon Show, Anthony announced if WRAJ Internet Radio will be on the air on Sunday/Monday of what was known as “The Day When the Music Dies.”
Anthony has lost his voice and will be unable to do the show. He will not be on the show till June 6, which is two straight weeks Anthony will not be on the show.
“Once again for another summer, I will be out a lot and so does our staff because of the summer vacations. Second, we are planning to open a small 1-mic audio setup in Florida so we can do live shows remotely, which is going to be taken care of next week.” (Anthony Zaragoza)
Anthony is not publishing anything else about the new setup in Florida, and where exactly it is in Florida. Anthony did say it will be WRAJ Internet Radio’s third operational location when he is away from home.
WRAJ Internet Radio current operational locations are Long Island and San Francisco which the San Francisco location was threatening to close earlier this year.
WRAJ Internet Radio will be the one in many webcasters which will hold music programming on Tuesday in an act to prevent the new CRB rates which will put most stations out of business.
From 8AM through 8PM Eastern, we will be presenting a special presentation of “Where the Music Won’t Come Alive: Internet Radio!” More coverage will be announced tomorrow on “The Afternoon Show” and this blog.
